Richard Tamm - killed in action

Walter Anderson who served with Tamm wrote me the following details:

"...Tamm, Fred Hildebrand and I walked Point together for about 5 months before they were killed. They died about a week apart from each other. They were both good men..."

Several years ago I sent an inquiry about the photo to the Mobile Riverine Force Association (MRFA) inquiring who the other persons in picture might be. I received two emails:

"The guy ahead of the doorway may be Daniel O. Garcia and the guy to his left may be Woody. I was in the 3-47th, B Co, Nov 67 to Jan 69"
- Bill Wulff -

"Looks as if we hit pay dirt Frank Gubal is in the picture. Small world, you know."
- Albert Moore -

Richard was a distant cousin of Pvt Donald James Spatafore, who was killed in action on March 13, 1969 while serving with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.

From a distant relation.
E-mail address is not available.

A Note from The Virtual Wall
