A note from The Virtual Wall

A UH-1B (tail number 63-08667) was conducting an attack at approximately 300 feet when it was hit by .50 caliber machinegun fire, rolled inverted, crashed, and exploded. Four men of the 114th Assault Helicopter Company died in the crash:
  • CPT Charles Gilbert Tucker, copilot
  • 1LT Raymond Ellsworth Rupcic, pilot
  • SGT Rafael Torres-Rivera, gunner
  • SP4 Clarence Lloyd Jones, crew chief
