Connie, 39 years ago we formed and trained our fire support team for Bravo Company, 1/501st Infantry at Fort Campbell, Kentuck; deployed to Vietnam in December 1967; moved to I Corps Tactical Zone in late January 1968; and survived the battles of the Tet Offensive at Hai Lang and environs. On 23 March 1968 I was "infused" or transferred to the 2/320th Artillery and weeks later learned that you had been killed on 29 March 1968, doing what we did as forward observers. Often I wonder "what if" and "sometimes I wonder who you'd be today."
