The database page for Peter Joe Wilson
I never met Pete Wilson but suspect he may be related to an older explorer scout ("Jake" Wilson) in Ridley Park, Pa., where we were taught the old WWII expression "Mayday, Mayday" which are reported to be Wilson's last words heard over the radio while he was in contact. SSG Wilson was the "01" of Recon Team South Carolina inserted southwest of Ben Het. This expression was never heard by me in the army at that time. I served in Special Forces in Viet Nam in 1968 in two border camps south of Ben Het at Tieu Atar (A-231) and Duc Lap (A-239). I honor Pete Wilson's life and mourn his loss. May he rest in peace and be remembered as someone who crossed the red line knowingly and with courage. Rest in Peace....
