A Note from The Virtual Wall

According to 3/506th teammate Jerry Berry, SP4 Wisnier was transferred from Charlie 3/506 to Alpha 2/327 on 19 March 1967. Six weeks later, on 29 April 1967, Alpha 2/327 lost two men: SP4 Wisnier and PFC George Lathan of Yonkers, New York.

SP4 Wisnier is buried in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Ridge Road, Cheektowaga, New York. The 3/506 Association advises that

"We first sent flowers to St. Stanislaus Cemetery in 2004 when we located Gary's place of burial. Flowers went out again this year and will continue year after year. Gary is one of 9 KIA's in the state of New York who receive flowers from the 3/506 Currahees.

"It is a way for the men of the 3/506 to let everyone know that those KIA's are always remembered and loved and will never be forgotten."
