The following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987. The special supplement was issued in conjunction with the dedication of the Philadelphia Viet Nam Memorial.
The 23-year-old Marine lance corporal drove a truck for a linen supply firm for three years before enlisting in September 1964. He was sent to Viet Nam in May 1966 and assigned to Company C of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. The machine gun team leader died on January 14, 1967.
